For a standard King mattress (80 in. long x 76 in. wide) this leaves about 17 in. of over hang to cover the mattress. This will generally cover the mattress & box spring for mattresses up to 10 in. thick. The same set will also cover Queen Size mattresses (80 in. long x 60 in. wide) with a thick mattress of 12 in. or more. The over hang on a standard Queen mattress will be about 25 in. on the sides and 18 in the front.
